How to Apply to 1122 and Why the Selection Tests Matter

Applying to 1122 is not only about filling out a form. It is the beginning of a selection journey designed to understand how each applicant thinks, learns, solves problems, and reacts when facing challenges.

The 1122 application process is built to identify motivated learners who are ready for an intensive peer-to-peer learning environment. At 1122, students are expected to learn by doing, experimenting, collaborating, failing, trying again, and improving step by step.

The Application Process

The first step is to create an account and begin the online application process. Applicants will then complete the required application stages, including the online selection tests.

These selection tests are not designed to check what applicants already know. They are not traditional school exams, and they do not require memorized answers. Their purpose is to evaluate important learning qualities such as logic, curiosity, focus, problem-solving, persistence, attention to detail, and the ability to learn independently.

The goal is not to find people who already know everything. The goal is to find people who are ready to learn, think deeply, and keep going when things become difficult.

The Purpose of the Selection Games

The selection games are an important part of the application process. They help evaluate how applicants approach unknown situations, how they search for solutions, how they manage time, and how they react when they are blocked.

In a project-based learning environment, students will often face problems they have never seen before. The games are designed to reflect that reality. They test the applicant’s ability to explore, understand patterns, make decisions, and continue progressing without waiting for direct instructions.

The games do not exist to trick applicants. They exist to help 1122 understand whether an applicant has the mindset needed for this type of learning: curiosity, patience, discipline, and resilience.

Sahara: The Selection Environment

After the online application games and check-in, selected applicants may be invited to continue to Sahara.

Sahara is a 21-day selection environment. It reveals how applicants learn, adapt, collaborate, persist, and take responsibility when the path is unclear.

During Sahara, applicants work through repeated project-based challenges, interact with peers, receive evaluation, and adapt across 21 days. The path is intentionally not fully explained.

No degree, previous programming experience, or technical background is required to apply. Anyone aged 18 or older can apply; Sahara determines who enters 1122.

What 1122 Is Looking For

1122 is looking for learners who are serious, motivated, curious, and ready to challenge themselves. The selection process is not only about technical ability. It is also about mindset.

Applicants who succeed are those who show consistency, independence, collaboration, discipline, and the ability to keep learning even when the path is difficult.

The application process is your first opportunity to show how you think, how you learn, and how far you are willing to go.

1122 is not looking for perfect applicants. It is looking for learners who are ready to grow.
